Out with the Old...In with the New

After many years of "roughing it" with the 1998 "Antique, horse-and-buggy" version...I finally caved and Jason got his new computer. Can you believe we had the old one for 10 years?!? Not remarkable for some, but for a house where technology rules the roost, a 10-year old computer predates pretty much everything else we had, and that pretty much says it all. To hear Jason talk about it, you would think we had to turn a crank or pedal to keep the thing running. Did you know the first home computer ever built cost $10,000 and took up an entire room? We got off easy, I guess.

I now can extol on you the virtues of being able to surf more than 5 webpages at a time. I can work on something without saying "Oh Crap" every 5 minutes when the program would freeze up. No more "This program is no longer responding..." messages. And the best feature...I get to see a new picture every 10 seconds of my kids' smiling faces as the "widget" scans through all our archives of pictures. Awww...sweet.

And lest I forget...Jason works on the computer more or less every night after the kids go to bed, therefore ensuring me a few hours of restful sleep and a bed all to myself until about 11pm. Yipee!!
