Dillon celebrated his third birthday with family this weekend. We had lasagna, panzanella (Italian summer salad), and of course, cake and ice cream.

Dilly got lots of great new toys (which is exactly what we needed after Christmas) and had fun playing with them. He had a great time, and mommy and daddy
are cheering the end of the terrible twos are sad to see another year gone.
Here's a picture of Dillon with his cake- he requested chocolate cake with chocolate icing and mommy agreed, "since it was a special day and all". There's a "3" candle in the top right corner, and Yes, that is a piece missing- Dillon demanded a piece with his dinner, and he wouldn't be told differently.
What you can't tell from the pictures is Dillon is fighting a cold or something, and has been running a low grade fever all weekend. He was
doped up on Motrin such a tough little guy, and held it together pretty well, even without a nap.
Although there have been days when
I didn't think Dillon would survive to see his third birthday I had to work extra hard to find Dillon's good nature, we've survived the terrible twos and are ready to tackle "the threes"!
